I thought the adaptation clever, for this is a novel with tons of complexities and nuance - and I walked out of the theater satisfied that the true story was told, and the themes and symbolism were dealt with in a powerful way. I am happy that I have seen this film - and I thought Keira Knightley was as talented as I have ever seen her. Life as theater developed the important elements of this novel, making difficult transitions appear smooth and natural and with flow. Bravo!
