Anna Karenina is a movie about a BORED housewife. Nothing more, nothing less. This movie only appeals to women of that stature. Oh, and gay men. The only thing that makes this movie appealing is the setting; the 17th century where glamourous dresses and of Anna's "place" in life. If the movie were to be "updated" in the 20th century, I do not believe the movie would make one speck of notice. This movie is purely about a bored housewife crying and whining about her inability to love. Wake up Anna...take all that glitz and glamour surrounding you away and you're no diff than today's woman.
