I think I would have liked this movie if I could have fallen in love with Count Vronsky like Anna did, but that didn't happen. Aaron Johnson just couldn't pull it off. He's simply not attractive, and that made me not care. I loved the book, and I am a big sucker for period romances, but the casting has to be right. Men are not the only ones who who are visual; women like to look at attractive men as well. Do the casting agencies not realize this?
The costumes and sets are beautiful, but that's all this movie has to offer. A hot leading man probably would have made a big difference.
