The plot was intelligible and I enjoyed the aspect of symbolism. It was a bit gorey, which I didn't like very much. The pace was rushed, but the movie still felt long, and that is not a good sign. Interesting resolution, as I had not read the book. Basically it felt like a frame designed to showcase Tom Hanks, but overall it was not horrid. It wasn't great either.
