worth seeing....with a remote in hand

This was really overall a good movie. It did in fact win the best picture award in its day, today though it doesn't quite live up to our standard of entertainment. Several of the numbers are very cheery, upbeat, fun, and semi-purposeful. The beginning is especially wonderful dance-wise, but soon the film begins to drag on, especially in the final dream sequence that is at least 20 minutes of a rather boring dance sequence. Almost all of the other dancing though is remarkable. One down side is the story doesn't really seem complete because they tie up the love story but leave the subplots completely unadressed. Since this is a classic you should see it, otherwise it might not be worth your time.
