All the right ingredients for a film magnifique. The love story was never engaging. Shallow. The plot was simple: deterioration of a human, step-step, but with nothing deep enough to hold our interest. Someone made a list of all the stages leading up to dying: delirium, force-feeding, adult diapers, etc., and the story simply went one-by-one, until the end. Many lost opportunities to show how deeply rooted their love was. Rent The Notebook if you want a could cry.
