Gritty in the first-row

One of Inarritu's best films, Amores Perros shows an aspect of love that other films never touch: the fact that love can suck. We're so used to the idealized viewpoints of love, of how two people were fated to become lovers for life despite whatever obstacles life throws in along the way. However, this movie does not even hint about this brighter side at all. Instead, there are three stories about how love has brought pain and agony to the protagonists in each tale. In some innovative way, all three separate stories intertwine with one another, piecing the entire movie together with a beautiful red bow. The actors definitely give you your money's worth of a performance, screaming and crying out their pains. A rare gem of a film. Sit in the first row and indulge.
