Americano captures so many emotional and visceral feelings, you cannot help but to be transported to that exact time in your life. A time when a thirst for cultural, romantic and worldly experiences ruled the day with no idea of the outcome of it all. Americano is a beautifully shot film filled with passion and laughter set among the running of the bulls in Spain. Leonor Varela as Adella is absolutely magical. Her performance is rich with mystery, beauty, creativity and a naturally innocent sexuality that captivates every minute she is on the screen. This film shows the importance of exploring cultures and adventures beyond your comfort zone and before the "Ameri-con" sucks you in. As Adella put it..."promise me...you'll do something that scares you". This one is definitely becoming part of my film collection and will be viewed whenever I need Adella's gently sexy reminder.
