Americanizing Shelley(2007)- User Reviews

This is a cute movie with great music, fun story and a really hot indian girl. At first I wasn't sure where the story was going, but after I got the Bollywood angle I was able to relax and laugh with it. The songs are really catchy and will be stuck in your head for the next week. I really liked "I'd love to love you out loud" that segues into the 80s Blondie song "French Kissin in the USA". The production numbers are very colorful - remember bollywood style. I have to admit that I haven't really watched true Bollywood films from India, but I kind of imagine that they would be like this. The plot is pretty simple, but it is the music and watching Shelley transform that is fun. The girl that plays Shelley, Namarata Singh Gurjal is great to look at. I love the way she moves, her voice and her sexy body. Sort of like Ugly Betty, You know that she is really a hot girl that has tried to nerd herself down at the start of the movie, but blossoms into a beautiful asian sex bomb by the middle of the movie.
