Which is probably what you made in high school. I was blown away by this film, which I expected to be a shallow story of a never-do-good social outcast who gets the all-too-cliche lucky break with the most popular girl in school just because they work at the same dead-end job. Instead, I witnessed a nerd with the personality of a fish but the insight and intellect of a sage discover life-lessons while bagging the most attractive character I've ever seen played by Kristen Stewart. Ryan Reynolds plays such a bomb love-to-hate jerk, and Martin Starr's pipe is almost as priceless as Jesse Eisenberg's poetry allusions. I predict that in the next 10 years this movie will become a cult classic. It would have made so much more at the box office had they not promoted it in a way that screamed "This is the illegitimate child of Superbad and Nick and Norah's Playlist."
