Adam(2009)- User Reviews

I watched this film by chance and was taken away by the different aspects of it. I always like to watch films that people would normally overlook, because those are always the movies that move us and touch us emotionally. I would have to say that this movie did just that. The character of Adam was genuine and was displayed as a realistic person rather than a mockery that lived in some fantacy world. I love how they used a REAL location as I used to live in the east coast so when I see a setting like New York, it truely makes me feel at home, and as stated before it adds to the genuine factor of the film.

What I love most about the film was the message, or messages. Before watching the movie I had heard of Asperger's syndrome but reading something online and actually seeing something are two different things. The film showed the struggle and challenges that people with this syndrome have, and that they are also people just like you and me that have obstacles to overcome in life.

The other part of the movie that I loves was the simple message of BE YOURSELF. We live in a world where people are contantly trying to out-do eachother and step on one another to achieve greatness. The character Adam in the movie was simple being himself, and through the relationship he had with Beth he was able to be the best version of himself FOR himself. There couldn't be a clearer message than that.

All in all i would recommend this film to anyone, because it was an informing and entertaining experience. It also leaves me to wonder why films LIKE this do not get the recognition that they deserve? Great Movie!
