What did you expect Jeanine? Didn't the catch words SEAL's, war, ect. give you an idea what the movie was about.

what did you tink they were gonna do have cake and ice cream? It's a military movie with previews of guns all over the place.

What the hell was Jeanine expecting? it's a movie with real Navy SEALs doing what they do. War is not pretty or nice. Think that's whats wrong with this country they think our military are supposed to be nice polite and clean. We send men off to war and then we handcuff them and tell them they can't do what they were trained to do, because someone like Jeanine may be offended by the actions of real men who do what others cant

You DO realize those weren't actors don't you? Those were actual Navy SEALs. The movie started as a recruiting video that got too detailed not to put it in theatres.

I realized it as soon as they started acting. But it was still a great movie, even if the acting was so bad it made Dwayne "the rock" Johnson look good.

Actually the director did a recruiting video. then after hanging out with the SEALs came up with a movie script. They couldn't find any actors or stunt people to even pretend to operate on the same level as these SEALs did. They actually used live ammo during filming, very little CGI was done in this movie, of course the kill shots and stuff were special effects.

If I may quote the words of Esther Chaves of the PDI ,
"Filipinos, of all people. Really? Filipinos as terrorists? Why, they were just recently voted one of the “least rude” people in the world. Of course, one can be gentle and polite but still be a terrorist but Filipino terrorism that traverses continents and oceans is a big, big stretch of the imagination."

did you miss the fact that te reason the acting was not great was because IT WAS NOT PORTRAYED BY ACTORS! Its so highly rated because the '"stars" are the same people who give you the right to have an opinion. Thats all I have to say about it.

Amen Sammie! I'd never cut it as an actor, but I was fortunate enough to serve in the Greatest Navy in the world, I pushed paper 4 SeaBee's of the Lant fleet, Lead the soldiers of Mobile Inshore Underwater Warfare Unit 212 through Fog, Sand, Mud, Blood, Boredom, and just a few Beer for a hitch or Two, Tried my Hand underwater on what the SubSurface Sailors call a "Boat", named the "Georgia" from a little place called Bangor just NE of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (Didn't care for that a whole lot), and I was lucky enough 2 get the oppertunity to Play with the Squadron boys & their P-3 Orion "Hunter" planes from '88 thru '92 ,on a Gorgeous little island at the end of the Aleutian Island chain, called Adak. Many called Adak God forsaken, but there was more Beauty and Friendship to be found on that little Island than Anywhere I've been since! So Cudo's for pointing out the REAL reason 'Act of Valor' deserves the high ratings it has gotten. Fair Winds & God's Speed Brothers!!

Good news is people who die in service to others get a special reward as Jesus said "Greater love has no man than he lay down his life for others". That is why people who bond in the heat of battle have a love for each other than many people never experience or understand.

Let's not forget,... turn the other cheek, love your enemies, do good to those that hate you...don't warp Jesus's message.

Jesus was a magician who was gay. Back in those times, it was HIGHLY unusual for a 30+ yo man to be unmarried. Plus he hung out with 12 bachelors, you do the math.
    • corllianla 1 month 16 days ago
you misunderstand Jesus words Mr. Russells...."Jesus said that who lift up his sword will perish by the sword"...and elsewhere He said..."he who will give his life for Me (meaning following Him, not killing others), will save his life"....and elsewhere He said..."Blessed are the peace makers as they shall be called sons of God” (Matthew 5:9) (part of the blessings speech Jesus held)
Forgive and you shall be forgiven...it is said right in the heart of the Our Father prayer...Jesus thought us to pray..."Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”...and so on...
JESUS NEVER SAID KILL FOR ME, AND KILL TO PROTECT OTHER PEOPLE!!!
Matthew 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven....

Just thank God that there are men like these who sacrifice family time, personal time and sometimes their lives to protect our freedoms. I don't think the plot line was very far off of some of the things our there that are happening in our wicked world today. At the film's end, they dedicate the movie to the seals who have died in action since 9-11. I couldn't count fast enough but the list appeared to have 150-200 names. Never read anything in the papers about their deaths but they died protecting you and me. God Bless Them!!!!

And you will never know where those SEAL's died. Most of the operations that SpecOps command does are grey to black operations. They never happened.

If don't like flag fests then move somewhere that has a different flag. The US Military does not condone torture (waterboarding is NOT torture, it does not cause bodily harm) or rape and will prosecute those that commit these crimes. This is finally a film that depicts the true brave members of our military that give you the freedom to be the #$%$ you are.

excellent movie. these were not actors but real soldiers. the actual actors did the background stuff. for example rosalyn sanchez was very realistic as the cia operative.

The enemies of freedom never rest. The abundance of evil people everywhere assures there will always be a need for brave, and dedicated warriors prepared to give their last full measure to defend that freedom! You will be in our thoughts and prayers wherever you are, whatever the mission.

Awesome and powerful movie! For those complaining about the acting, common. I've seen plenty of movies done with "actors" that were horrible in comparison. They aren't actors, they're the real deal. They do it right, and it's nice to see Hollywood finally get it right. The action was top notch. My father is USN retired and I've had the honor of knowing several SEALs over the years. Most of them are some of the nicest guys you'll ever met. My utmost respect goes out to all the military.

God, here we go. Another military hating Liberal. You probably didn't even see the movie, but bash it because you hate the military and everything it stands for. Even though you hate everything the military stands for, they're still going to risk their lives, even to protect people like you. And then you accuse this movie of brainwashing, when you get all of your news from Bill Maher and MSNBC.

After watching this I am proud to be an American. I loved how they worked together seamless y and selflishly to accomplish the mission -- My favorite quote - one twig can be broken - but when bundled together we become strong and unbreakable. There's hope for America -- imagine Boehner (Republicans) and Pelosi (Democrats) working together like these Seals did!

I can't wait to see this movie! As a vet who served in the army, did 3 tours to Iraq and lost good friends and worked with the navy seals this movies looks great. What bothers me the most about reading some of theses reviews, is how some people don't support our troops, but turn around and look up to someone like an actor or a sports person that haven't done nothing but take your money and don't give nothing back to you. My brothers in arms that lost their life to gave you something that you take for granite everyday, YOUR FREEDOM!! So before you go out and bashing our brave men and women who serve our military you don't need to be here in this great country called the USA...sending all my love to the military personal out there, stay save and god bless

    1. THEY ARE NOT SOLDIERS ! They are SAILORS... 2. The DoD approved the film with actual SeAL team members 3. The credits are of fallen SOFs, they are all dead since 9/11, 4. The DoD specified not to release the names of the active duty SeALs... 5. the rest of the comments are just a matter of opinion. I liked it.
