Across the Universe(2007)- User Reviews

First, before you read the negative reviews you must first watch this film. Do not develope a bias approach before giving this movie a chance. I will be straight forward with you. I am not a musical type of guy, never have been. I rented this movie not knowing it was going to be a musical. I started watching it and as soon as the singing started I began to second guess my decision. Being a beatles fan, I figured I would give it a chance. Let me tell you, it was the best thing I had done all week. The movie was stimulating, visually, story and all. The acting was top notch considering a few of the actors have never had any prior singing experience. Given the time allotment, the story fits the musical score perfectly if not near perfect. I am only 27, so I have been given a chance to live the music with the time, so to speak. I know it is probably far from close, but it is nice to have emotions somewhat similar to the ones felt during this time period.
All I can say is, have an open mind while watching this movie.
With all the negative reponses I can only say. You can always tell the ignorant by the response they give, which is usually based on something they do not understand. Unfortunately, people fear change.
