if one just looks allegorically .... then the movie and presumably the book will take on new meaning. In the civil war, Lincoln was fighting "wealthy English capitalists" who were sucking the life blood from the nation and threatening to destroy the union. Don't tkae my word for it, go google "The way to outdo England without fighting her" a collection of letters from Henry Charles Carey (Lincoln's Financial Adviser) to the then speaker of the house. The movie and book tells "history" thru "imagery" and informs the viewer of the truth disguised in fiction. The truth is much different than portrayed in the history text books and truth is always stranger than fiction.

Why are so many people bashing it also saying Hollywood came up with the idea? Even if you hate something at least try not to be ignorant about it.

I just watch hunter games and do not think I will go to movie theater again in the nearest future. I hate to think that I paid ten bucks to see that crap. Same with this. No matter how entertaining...we already lost science, now we are about to loose history. I think it is kind of sick. Or it is just me?

Abraham Lincoln, WOW. I wish I was born in those's days. The 20th century but unfortionaly , I never knew him I was born in 1946. so, I would have to vote for Reagen. we had a great 'President' then. Wish he was here now.

This is the dumbest thing i have ever heard. Next it will be George Washington as a werewolf. I think their true lives were more interesting than made up Hollywood junk.

It's a book. and it's really good actually how factual history is tied in with fiction. it makes it almost real. you should read the book. just a thought before you bash it. No ill will intended in this comment by the way.

Should be a more action packed and intense twilight without the bad emotions.
