A Mighty Heart(2007)- User Reviews

Good movie, the story cannot be anything less than Oscar-worthy taking into consideration this happened to a real person (and his family) less than 10 years ago! The acting was also up to a high standard, I just felt the scene where Ms. Jolie screams was a bit forced and hence that kind of lowered my overall opinion of the whole acting in the movie. The direction was very good in particular the visual picture the audience gets from Karachi (for those that have not visited there, this is a very important part of the movie - to get the ambiance and feeling of the city). I also particularly enjoyed how the morning prayers were broadcasted on the speakers and the audience saw those speakers and everyone prey – this really gave the ambience a truly “Muslim city” feel. I think this movie was a good tribute to Mr. Pearl and I am glad I watched it so I know more about his story and what happens in today’s world in some other corner of this planet. R.I.P. Mr. Pearl.

In summary all I can say is that I wanted to like the movie more than I could, somehow I felt that I was not permitted to really like this movie as much as I would have hoped to be allowed to like it (and as I have discussed above this is due to a culmination of reasons). None-the-less definitely worth watching.
