A biography of Zen philosopher Daisetz Teitaro Suzuki (1870-1966). Suzuki was a major proponent of Zen Buddhism in the West, writing books, lecturing, and teaching at Columbia University. John Cage, Allen Ginsberg, Carl Jung, Alan Watts, Erich Fromm, Thomas Merton, Aldous Huxley, Martin Heidegger and many others were influenced by his work.
