One day in 1982, while riding his motorbike through Beijing's back alleys, Qian accidentally knocks over old Zhai. Feeling sorry for the man, Qian begins delivering him hot lunches, once a day. Soon the two men have formed a surrogate father-son relationship. But the friendship is abruptly ended one day as suddenly as it began.
