Every family has its quirks. Just because Lucy Pannick drinks, her son Jim steals cars, her grandmother forgets to put her clothes on and Sandy, her mentally-disabled brother, runs model trains in his room all night, doesn't mean the Pannick family is dysfunctional. Enter Donovan Quick, the mysterious wordsmith who takes up residence with the Pannick family and changes their lives and the community in the process. When the Windmill Transport Bus Company discontinues a local train route, leaving Sandy with no way to get to his day care center, Donovan decides they should start their own one-bus company. Soon, the money starts rolling in for the Quick & Pannick Bus Company and Windmill Transport suddenly wants part of the action. Not if Donovan Quick has anything to say about it!
