In 1993, Geraldine Cox, a woman from Australia, moved to Cambodia and dedicated herself to working in an orphanage there. After Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen's bloody coup in 1997, Geraldine fought to remain in Cambodia but was forced to leave and separated from her children for five months.
