A wealthy woman finds herself alone in her huge house when her husband leaves her. She takes in a homeless gardener and his wife in an attempt both to be charitable and to find new meaning in her life. Next, the gardener's daughter and her kids arrive and then an old man. Soon the house is full, and the woman feels like she has a new family. But things soon turn sour, and lonely again, the woman is forced to lock herself in her room to escape the invaders.
