Profile of American literary icon Mark Twain (1835-1910). Part 1 covers his early life on the Mississippi River, and concludes with the publication of "Huckleberry Finn." Part 2 begins in 1885; Twain's unfortunate business ventures depletes his wealth and forces him into lecture tours and virtual exile abroad. Family tragedies also took their toll, leaving him an embittered man, especially toward God. His worldwide celebrity continued undiminished after his death on April 21, 1910.
