Family, friendship, love, betrayal and redemption, in Manhattan's infamous Hell's Kitchen. Frankie is the Irish-American son of a longshoreman. Growing up in a tight-knit century-old neighborhood, Frankie continues to hang with his beat friends from childhood, which includes little beyond "shaping" at the union hall, sports betting, marrying the local girls, drinking too much and trying to stay out of trouble. When his best friend Dennis is the latest victim in a series of killings that plague the streets, Frankie vows to turn the neighborhood upside down to discover the killer. Questioning all the values that define life in his neighborhood, Frankie must confront both Holly, the local "wise guy" and Dugan, his father's best friend, who has become a police detective.
