An account of the 1969 kidnapping of the U.S. ambassador to Brazil, Charles Burke Elbrick, by left-wing revolutionaries. Holed-up for a tense four days awaiting a response from the government, many of the personal encounters between the kidnappers and Ambassador Elbrick--as each member stands watch--belie the ineluctable humanity beneath the steely bravado of a kidnapper's mask.
