A quiet Kansas town is poised to be overrun with cowboys fresh from the Texas trail, and the saloon keeper wants the Marshall out of the picture so he can conduct business his own way. Moreover, Silver's deputy (Jeffrey Hunter) is the son of an outlaw he killed in the line of duty years ago, and now the young man is out for revenge.
