As half of the late-'80s and early-'90s songwriting and production team LaFace (which he had formed with future Arista head L.A. Reid), Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds crafted a succession of number-one singles for some of the era's finest R&B vocalists--including Boyz II Men, Bobby Brown, and Toni Braxton. In 1995, Babyface became a performing artist in his own right, launching a successful singing career that encompassed the same strain of sophisticated urban soul that made his protégés so successful. Babyface's evolution as a singer, songwriter, producer, and musician can be heard in the television concert GROWN & SEXY, which finds the multi-Grammy Award-winner performing a career-spanning selection of songs that includes his own hits ("Whip Appeal," "This is for the Cool in You") as well as those he penned for others ("I'll Make Love to You," "End of the Road").
