California produced some impassioned musical talent in the 1960s and '70s. Many musicians who resided in the sun-soaked West Coast state embraced the hippie ethos that was prevalent at the time, and delivered some music that was inexorably tied to the times in which it was produced, but also proved to have a timeless charm that has enchanted subsequent generations of music fans.
