This Italian Gothic adaptation of Henry James's The TURN OF THE SCREW unfolds at the breathtakingly gorgeous Villa Condulmer in Mogliano, Veneto. Nathalie Delon (BLUEBEARD) is a young mother who makes the horrifying discovery that her son (Alessandro Poggi), whose imaginary friend she has been well aware of, has actually been playing with the spirit of the child she lost during pregnancy. Her husband (John Phillip Law, DANGER DIABOLIK) doesn't believe her, despite the numerous freak accidents that begin to occur, and the situation is only magnified when the distraught woman turns to a famous psychiatrist (Joseph Cotten, BARON BLOOD) for assistance. Recalling Nicholas Roeg's DON'T LOOK BACK in its haunting tone, the movie's mood is perfected by composer Pino Donaggio (DRESSED TO KILL, THE HOWLING) with a chilling score.
