This installment of the GUILTY PLEASURES series gathers four made-for-television courtroom dramas.
FINAL JUSTICE: A sleazy lawyer (Michael McKean, THIS IS SPINAL TAP) is able to get his client, who is guilty of murder, acquitted by using corrupt tactics. The murder victim's sister (Annette O'Toole) is sure of the defendant's guilt and exacts revenge by kidnapping the murderer's lawyer and forcing him to confess his dishonorable ways. Things turn around her, though, when she finds herself on trial for kidnapping.
PRISON OF SECRETS: A young mother is sent to prison after inadvertently breaking the law and serves her 10 years in complete degradation as she provides the prison guards with sexual favors in exchange for material things while in prison. She soon learns of other women who are forced into prostitution every night by the prison guards who act as their pimps. She decides to take a stand against this abuse, but knows that it will be a hard fight unless she can get other women in the prison to testify also.
TRIAL BY MEDIA: Lyssa Grant Hughes is a respected doctor and leader of woman's rights who's decided to begin her political career. Unfortunately, the media finds out about a petty indiscretion from her past which of course causes a flurry amongst her fellow politicians and the media. She turns to her politician father for help, and now she faces a tough choice that must be made; either let everyone hear what she's got to say in defense while keeping her self-respect but risk losing the campaign, or join in on the media game.
WHERE THE TRUTH LIES: When a political candidate is murdered his deaf campaign manager, Dana Sue Lacey, becomes prime suspect. The attorney representing her is Lillian Rose Martin. Martin is a very successful criminal attorney and has yet to lose a case, but this is going to be a tricky one for her. Dana's refusal to reveal information is damaging to Martin's defense yet she is determined to clear her client. The trial that follows evolves into a huge, controversial event which opens many doors to a surprising past.
