Director Richard Brauer fashions a moving exposé of the tragic and often forgotten plight of the American family farm in the emotional social drama BARN RED. Screen veteran and Academy Award-winner Ernest Borgnine (MARTY) turns in yet another affecting performance as Michael Bolini, an elderly farmer in danger of losing his generations-old family homestead to greedy land developers snapping up nearby properties. Despite the urgings of both his neighbors and niece (Julie Kavner) to sell the land and retire, Michael launches an intense legal battle to save his farm with the help of a sympathetic town clerk (Suzi Regan) and a Native American woman (Kimberly Norris) whose family used to work on the farm when she was a child. Gospel musician Fernando Ortega's uplifting film score adds further poignancy to Brauer's heartfelt ode to a vanishing slice of Americana.
