British jazz trombonist Cliff Hardie is a regular on London's surprisingly fertile jazz scene. Though having a trombonist as a bandleader is rare, Hardie possesses that rare combination of talent, virtuosity, and magnetism that makes it work. He is backed by the UK All-Stars, who are a 19-piece band consisting of saxophones, trombones, trumpets, guitar, piano, bass, and percussion. The big band enthusiastically pummel through an infectious set that includes tunes by Danny Street, Malcolm McFarlane, and John Barclay.
