Leon Russell has held almost every esteemed position that there is to be held in the world of music. An acclaimed session pianist in the 1950s, Russell went on to learn the guitar and start his own group in the 1960s. In 1970, he founded a label (Shelter Records) and became a world-renowned songwriter and performer in his own right.
