A non-narrative compilation of archival footage in varying states of deterioration. For over two years, director Bill Morrison sorted through flammable, sometimes toxic, old nitrate stock in various archives in the United States and Switzerland, selecting images of people defying their own mortality -- daredevils, religious zealots, athletes and explorers, to name a few.
