Written while he was in the service of Prince Leopold in Cothen, Bach's Brandenburg Concertos represent a high point in the composer's amazing body of work. Given his own orchestra and the opportunity to write instrumental music, Bach made a conceptual and stylistic leap over his previous work with these six concertos. Performed by the The Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, this is an amazing and virtuosic performance of the complete set of concertos.
