A young girl named Molly becomes orphaned and inherits a large property with a tower. A strange pokemon named Unown comes to Molly and helps to overcome her grief by wrapping the tower with a crystal for every one of Molly's wishes. When Molly wishes for a mother, Unown kidnaps Ash Ketchum's mother and brings her to the tower. The tower then becomes an world of illusory happiness that lulls people into passive complacency. It is Ash's mission to save his mother and free everyone involved from the spell of the tower.
