As a rash of mysterious suicides plagues Japan, an astute police detective begins seeing a common thread that may run through them. The suicides, among them a case of an athlete running herself to death and a man who throws himself out a window right in front of his wife, who takes no notice, force the detective to consider the possibility that the victims have been hypnotized and put under the spell of subliminal suggestion. However, when the clues lead to a prominent entertainer, the detective must question the motive behind the killings and whether or not he may already be a victim.
