Kanin is eleven and not very athletic. He wants to play baseball but has little chance of getting onto the local champion team, but gets picked anyway. Unfortunately, he finds out that he was picked for the team by the tough Couch Geiser (Duffy) for a bet. Kanin gets his mom and retired coach Billy Hicks (Asner) to take over as the new coaches and the team learns how to have a sensational season. A warm-hearted family movie about friendship and sportsmanship.
