Add to My Movies!   Jean Smart (DESIGNING WOMEN) and Gregory Hines star in this made for TV film about a woman, Kay, who moves to a rural southern town with her baby in order to escape her checkered past. However, it becomes evident her southern refuge is quite as safe as she thought is was when a menacing stranger, Barnes (Hines), drops by, casually threatening her with info about her past. Barnes kidnaps her baby as he tries to learn more about Kay's past and about the baby she calls her own. Featuring an excellent and rare performance by Hines as the film's heavy, A STRANGER IN TOWN is an effective psychological thriller that twists and turns into its harrowing finale.
