Shot between 1949 and 1963, this filmed diary chronicles Lithuanian exile Jonas Mekas' arrival in New York and the travails he experienced in the immigrant community. His later introduction to the New York art-house scene is also included, with footage from the Living Theatre, Frank O'Hara, Allen Ginsberg, etc.
