Teenager Morgan Hiller and his family have become displaced after his father lost some of the wealth to which they had been accustomed. They are then forced to moves to California where Morgan meets Frankie, the girlfriend of Nick, a high school tough who does not appreciate Frankie's sudden change of heart. The antagonism between Morgan and Frankie mounts slowly escallating towards a high-noon showdown.
