This pulp film features Sophia Loren, James Coburn and O. J. Simpson, along with a cast rich in character actors. Adele Tasca (Sophia Loren) is convinced that her late spouse, a chemist, was murdered by a filthy rich, reclusive entrepreneur, Stegner (Anthony Franciosa). When she reports her suspicions to the authorities at the U.S. Justice Department, the officials squeeze mobster Sal Hyman (Eil Wallach) to put a contract out on Stegner. Hyman, in turn, persuades retiree gunsmith Jerry Fanon (James Coburn) and his assistant Catlett (O.J.) to bring down Steiger once and for all.
FIREPOWER is an all-star explosive action film. Boasting the finest players in 1970s action cinema, it stands tall against more contemporary blockbusters. Showcasing both 1970s fashion and gadgetry, FIREPOWER is an important time capsule.
