Esmeralda, an alluring nurse who is happily married to five husbands, and is about to marry her sixth, panicks when she is charged with bigamy; however, during her interrogation and detention, the chief inspector also falls in love with with the magnetic Esmeralda. Meanwhile, outside the jail, feminists protest in her defense while her five upset husbands plot to break Esmeralda out of jail.
