It starts slowly, but builds well. By the end, we still wanted more. The translations weren't excellent - if you're fluent in Russian, you'll agree & will enjoy hearing what the actors have to say in the intended context. The actors are some of the best Russia has to offer. There are some interesting twists & stories, which are very deep & emotional. If you're familiar with some of Russia's current issues, such as feelings about Caucaus immigrants, you'll have a better understanding of some of the underlying issues at heart here. I don't know how anyone could rate this movie less than an A-, unless you want an action movie full of visual effects (if this is your main interest in a movie, please do not bother to watch this movie, as you will be disappointed), with all due respect.
