What's The Story

Based on the best-selling young adult novel by Stephenie Meyer, Twilight breathes new life into the classic vampire tale. Not that vampires breathe. Isabella "Bella" Swan is new to the small town of Forks, Washington, and finds herself drawn to the enigmatic Edward Cullen. Apparently, she's into older guys. Like, a hundred years older. Though the discovery that he's a vampire doesn't dim Bella's passion, the young couple soon has worse problems. Not all vamps are as nice as Edward -- and one is out for Bella's blood.

Three Good Reasons

  • 1Any tale that can convince a jaded teen to pry her nose away from the TV screen and bury it in a book instead must be gripping indeed!
  • 2Director and co-writer Catherine Hardwicke generated Oscar buzz with Thirteen, a hard-hitting indie portrait of teenage life which she also directed and co-wrote.
  • 3If you thought Cedric Diggory (Robert Pattinson) looked cute waving a wand in Goblet of Fire, wait 'til you see him stop a car with his bare hands.

Bet You Didn't Know

The real teens of Forks, Washington are pretty extraordinary, too. In 1990, a class of Forks high school students actually built the Timber Museum, the town's main pre-"Twilight" tourist attraction. More about Twilight on Yahoo! Movies
