What's The Story
The land of Dor has fallen on hard times, and its people are full of despair. But one tiny mouse named Despereaux has the courage to stand up against those who tell him to cower in the dark. With his small body and large ears, Despereaux has never fit in with other mice, but his true uniqueness lies in his heart. Through books (which he reads instead of eats), he discovers tales of chivalry. Soon his love for the beautiful human Princess Pea leads him into trouble, adventure, and ultimately, friendship.Three Good Reasons
- 1The film is based on the Newbury Award-winning children's book by Kate DiCamillo, who is also the author of "Because of Winn-Dixie."
- 2If the suspenseful and inspiring story doesn't keep your kids entranced, the stylish and colorful animation will.
- 3The voice talent features too many cinematic greats to list here, including Matthew Broderick, Dustin Hoffman, Sigourney Weaver, and William H. Macy.
Bet You Didn't Know
Despereaux isn't the only mouse with a dangerous life. In the wild, mice live an average of only four months. For more family related movie fare, visit Yahoo! Kids More about The Tale of Despereaux on Yahoo! Movies
