What's The Story

While they are arguably the cutest members of the rodent family, you wouldn't necessarily want to adopt them into your family. But that's what single guy Dave Seville does when he discovers a trio of chipmunk brothers who can talk, sing, and dance. There's the mischievous ringleader Alvin, the bespectacled intellectual Simon, and the chubby, sweet-natured Theodore. Will acting as both their surrogate parent and their manager be too much for Dave to handle? Can you say "Alviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin!"?

Three Good Reasons

  • 1Here are three reasons: Alvin, Simon and Theodore. It's their first live-action movie in their 50-year history.
  • 2After providing the voice for one digitally enhanced version of a classic cartoon character -- Underdog -- Jason Lee gets to be the human this time.
  • 3Ross Bagdasarian Jr. -- the son of the Chipmunk's creator who's been voicing the characters since the '70s -- and his wife Janice Karman keep the spirit alive as the film's producers.

Bet You Didn't Know

"The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)" plays over the opening credits of Cameron Crowe's semi-autobiographical film Almost Famous, which also stars Jason Lee as the leader of a musical group. More about Alvin and the Chipmunks on Yahoo! Movies
