The Proposal
Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds star in a romantic comedy where corporate ambition makes for strange bedfellows. Margaret Tate is a hard-nosed executive who makes life miserable for her overworked assistant Andrew Paxton. But when Margaret is threatened with deportation to her native Canada, the quick-thinking exec announces that she and Andrew are engaged to be married. Andrew agrees to go along with her scheme -- if there's a long-awaited promotion in it for him. But in order to keep up appearances, she must help celebrate his grandmother's 90th birthday... in Alaska, where the future in-laws teach her a thing or two about family.
