Clint Eastwood stars as Walt Kowalski, a cranky and inflexible Korean War veteran, living in a changing world, who is forced by his immigrant neighbors to confront his own long-held prejudices. When Thao, a young Hmong teenager, tries to steal his prized possession -- a cherry condition 1972 Gran Torino -- Walt sets out to reform the youth. Reluctantly, he is drawn into the life of Thao's family, and soon finds himself taking steps to protect them from the gangs that foul their neighborhood.
