Tom Cruise had a busy night Feb. 20, escorting not one, but two gorgeous actresses around Hollywood, Star can reveal. He started the evening by surprising partygoers — including Will Smith and Denzel Washington — when he waltzed in with former flame Penelope Cruz. And the actor kept observers guessing when, just a few hours later, he was spotted with another Latina lovely, model-actress Sofia Vergara.

According to an eyewitness, when Tom, 42, and Penelope, 30, arrived at the fete, honoring Oscar nominee (and his 'Collateral' co-star) Jamie Foxx, the two appeared as if their January 2004 split never happened. “Penelope was holding tightly onto Tom’s arm, and the two looked cozy as they glanced into each other’s eyes,” the source tells Star. “It was the talk of the party.”

And there were plenty of reasons to keep talking. Later that night, Tom was spotted in nearby Studio City, with Colombian-born beauty Sofía, 32, who has been linked to Enrique Iglesias, Jamie Foxx, Mark Wahlberg and P. Diddy, where they enjoyed a late-night nosh session at Jerry’s Famous Deli on Ventura Boulevard.

According to another source, the two stopped at the restaurant around 4:00 a.m. “It looked like a date,” says the source, adding that Tom and Sofia, along with three others, spent close to 40 minutes in the restaurant. “They were acting like boyfriend and girlfriend.” Another insider tells Star: “They’ve been secretly dating for a month.”
