Synopsis:
A feature-length art piece melding the music of Philip Glass with images of humanity and nature from around the world. 'Naqoyqatsi' (a Hopi Indian word for "life as war") is the third film in a series that studies the relationships between nature and modern man. Beggining with 'Koyaanisqatsi' (Hopi for "life out of balance") and 'Powaq-qatsi' ("life in transition"), 'Naqoyqatsi' explores technology, its invasion on nature, and the origins of man's tendencies towards war.
