FACT ONE: Always Recharge the Teleporter's Battery Based on the popular science fiction novel, Jumper is about a young man (played by Hayden Christensen) who can teleport himself to anywhere in the world. One of the first sci-fi stories about teleportation was 1877's "The Man Without a Body." It's about a scientist who tries to transmit himself over telegraph wires, but only his head gets through before the battery dies.

FACT TWO: It's Not Science Fiction Any More We're not at the point where Scotty can beam us up yet, but in 2006 Dr. Eugene Polzik and his team at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark successfully conducted a teleportation experiment. They blasted a laser into a cloud of atoms and transferred the "quantum information" about a foot-and-a-half.

FACT THREE: The Christensens Do a Lot of Jumping Hayden Christensen is not the only "Jumper" in his family. His older sister Hejsa was a trampoline champion. When Hayden was just a kid Hejsa had a meeting with a talent agent. No one was around to babysit for him, so she brought him along and the agent suggested that Hayden should consider acting as well.

FACT FOUR: Are You Not Entertained? This was the first film in decades to shoot at Colosseum in Rome. The movie crew could only work between 6:30 and 8:30am and again from 3:30 to 5:30pm to avoid disturbing tourists. They could only use natural light, and no film equipment was permitted to touch the ground of the hallowed historical site.
